P E T R A fied . . . 19,448 Steps later

JORDAN DAY #2!

What what! I have officially been to THE COOLEST PLACE EVER!
Today we left straight from our hotel and drove about 3 minutes to the entrance of Petra canyon
We started down the Siq and frolicked all the way to the Treasury, where I got my first glance at ...

This beauty!And . . .  Not only did I look, but I rode a CAMEL!
And I made some new friends . . .

We were able to spend most of the day in Petra - but that wasn't near enough time. There is SO much to see. It literally is an ancient city built INTO the rocks - and the farther down the canyon you walk, the more you see. There were extravagant tombs, amphitheaters, a monastery, homes, and simple carvings of Gods or writings ALL over the canyon. I would have loved to see this city back in its prime - Just look at this place!

Some of us hiked up to the Monastery, which was a feat of almost 1,000 carved steps to the top of the canyon. The Monastery blew my mind - I thought the Treasury was amazing, but the Monastery was MASSIVE.

The carvings weren't as beautiful as the
Treasury, but the Monastery was just
GINORMOUS

Bustin' out the whip.
It felt right

My beautiful roomate Ashley ,
Who has the best fanny in town !

Nabatean God's and  Goddess's

We were able to hike a little bit further up, where there was a gorgeously breathtaking view of the surrounding land and beautiful earth.

I love my life!

Before I knew it, we had to say goodbye to Petra. I could have spent days in this place . But alas, there were further adventures in Jordan to attend to.

Cute cute cute adorable sweet Bedouin children playing in the sand.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped the bus next to what's left of a Crusader Castle. . . Vladi and I thought it an appropriate spot to break out the 2 step

Lots of good things today! The entire day I was in shock.
I couldn't helping ooohing and aaahhing at everything.!
It is simply amazing that Petra still exists today and that its carvings are preserved so well.

Loved this place.
