Good Sabbath! Walking in Orson Hyde Park

Yesterday was my first Sabbath in Jerusalem! The Sabbath is celebrated on saturday's here, and because it was the first saturday of the month it was also and Fast & Testimony meeting. It was such a lovely meeting. I always love hearing others bear their testimonies, I love listening! Sacrament meeting is held in the auditorium of the JC, and the back wall behind the podium is 100% windows. The JC is located on the Mount of Olives, overlooking all of Jerusalem, so I was a little distracted by the spectacular view throughout the meeting! Meg and I both went to choir before church, and it was an amazing experience. The church hymns have taken on a whole new meaning, most of them reference places in this very city, it was a special and sweet realization.
Just a lil lovin' on the Dome

After church Meg and I went with a group of others and walked to the Orson Hyde Park. We spent an hour or so there sitting in the park, reading scriptures, writing in our journals, looking at the city, talking, and pondering.
